Heat builds quickly
Vehicles, enclosed rooms and dark board bags can become much hotter than the surrounding air. Prolonged heat may affect foam, resin, adhesives and internal pressure depending on construction.
Sunlight adds exposure
Direct sun heats the board and can contribute to colour change and material ageing. Shade the board when it is not being used and avoid leaving it deck-up on hot surfaces.
Pressure and impact
Rails, noses, tails and fin areas are commonly damaged during transport and storage. Use padding and avoid stacking heavy equipment on the board.
Follow the actual board’s instructions
Vented constructions and different materials can have specific care requirements. Use manufacturer guidance where available, and ask a qualified repairer when damage or construction is uncertain.
